Harrogate based The Electric Broker is to sponsor Welcome to Yorkshire’s new golf membership launch at Headingley Golf Club, Leeds, on May 26.
The event marks the announcement of a new range of memberships available to golf clubs and facilities which give them the opportunity to showcase what they have to offer and connect to the millions of visitors who visit yorkshire.com. every year. Memberships start from just £15 plus VAT per month.
Thirty-two of Yorkshire’s top business owners and sporting personalities will take on the Dr Alister MacKenzie layout which will jointly host the English Men’s and Women’s Amateur Championships with neighbours Moortown, from 27 July- 1 August 2021.
“The Electric Broker is excited to be supporting the growth of golf in Yorkshire. We believe the beautiful landscape is ideal to propel the sport within the area, “said The Electric Broker’s Managing Director Chris Brown.
“Since becoming partners with Welcome to Yorkshire, we have been passionate about supporting all things Yorkshire, and we are thrilled to be working closely with them wherever we can.
“The environmental ambitions of the county align with our goals of supporting businesses transitioning to green alternatives for vehicles, EV charging and energy production.
“The golf launch is a fantastic opportunity to get the ball rolling, with some incredible guest appearances scheduled,” he added.
In addition to launching the membership scheme and golf dedicated website golf.yorkshire.com, Welcome to Yorkshire has partnered with Leeds based SGH Sporting Events to promote golf in the county. This follows their successful Covid -19 safe joint staging of the inaugural Welcome to Yorkshire Ian Woosnam Senior Invitational last September.
As well as attracting golfers to play and stay in Yorkshire and experience the great variety of courses including Ryder Cup and European Tour venues, WTY and SGH will stage several events, with Yorkshire Cancer Research as their chosen charity.
These will include the inaugural MacKenzie Challenge at Horsforth Golf Club on July 9, the second Welcome to Yorkshire Ian Woosnam Senior Invitational in September and a Christmas Am-Am at Bradford Golf Club on December 2 followed by a lunch and Q&A with Colin Montgomerie OBE.
Also lending their support on the day are Slingsby Gin-who recently launched the Slingsby Golf Academy designed to encourage more females to take up the game, - Ossett Brewery, DRUH Belts & Buckles and the Dakota Hotel, Leeds.
